Homework!
Each week students will receive a homework packet on Friday which needs to be returned on the following Friday. This allows some weekend time to work, since we know how busy these little guys are!
This packet will contain a reading log, usually a skills page, and a Math 4 Today page. Their FMJ (see below) will be written at school through the end of the calendar year, with it becoming part of the homework beginning in January. There may also be occasional math homework that will be due the day following when it's given.
If incomplete or missing homework becomes habitual, there will consequences taken as seen appropriate by the teachers. It will also effect their report card scores regarding accountability and turning in work in a timely manner.
Homework consists of:
+ A reading log
+ A response on a book they are reading
+ Family Message Journal (a letter home, and then a letter back from a family member)
+ Skills page, DLI, or spelling work
+ Math page
See document below, or upload to your computer. Feel free to change the dates and complete the reading log if yours goes missing (you can also use notebook paper as well).
The first link is for the homework page, the second link describes the Family Home Journal (in Sarah Gasamis's language since she is the one that brought the tradition to the literacy team).
